First stage of the French downhill championship 2008English version by James LangridgeOn the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th May 2008, for the second year running USF Longskate is organising, with the support of the Fédération Française de Roller Skating (FFRS), the first of the 5 stages of the French downhill championship along the B15 between Darnétal and Roncherolles-sur-le-Vivier, 5km from Rouen. The first time round (2007) delighted the participants as much as the spectators, most of whom were discovering these disciplines for the first time. For this reason we’re doing it again in 2008! Like last year this downhill session on a closed and marshalled road will bring together inline skates, skateboards (longboard), buttboards, streetluge and skullboards. Between 100 and 150 skaters from the four corners of Europe will come to fight for the first points of the French championship 2008, but equally for world ranking as this event is included in the International Gravity Sport Association calendar (IGSA). The participants will come to represent their clubs and take maximum pleasure in skating an ideal course at almost 2 kilometres. Epic duels await with the fastest contraptions reaching speeds of 90 km/h. These are hardened competitors who will do battle on this road. The men's and women's 2007 and 2006 French champions will be there. Event ProgrammeThursday 1st May 2008 Preparing the course and
